With the large pneumatic feed-throughs integrated in the housing, the SWS-022 enables the use and change of tools that require a large air flow rate in order to function. With its three mounting surfaces, the SWS-029 is particularly suitable for applications in which different tools have to be supplied with different media.
The patented "no-touch locking-system" facilitates a reliable tool change even if the master and the adapter are up to 2.5 mm apart from one another. In the event of an emergency stop or a sudden power failure, the patented self-retaining feature of the locking system ensures a process-reliable connection between the quick-change master and adapter.
With a load capacity of 25 kg, the SWS-022 joins the existing SWS-020 and SWS-021 sizes. Proven technologies such as the patented self-retaining locking system for maximum safety and No-Touch-Locking™ for simplified teaching are of course also found in the SWS-022.
Moreover, the sensor system for lock monitoring is integrated into the housing of the new size, which eliminates the need for additional sensor adapter plates. Furthermore, the SWS-022 has six G3/8" pneumatic feed-throughs that can also be used to easily supply products from the "robotic material removal" area, such as the RCV deburring spindle or the AOV orbital sander tool.
Also, the additional mounting surface in combination with the SCHUNK SWO portfolio offers a wide range of options for feeding through other media.
The new SWS-029 is also part of the 20-series SWS family, but can be used with capacity loads up to 35 kg due to an even more robust design with reinforced centering pins and a more stable attachment to the robot and tool. Further optimizations include integrated lock monitoring and the option of directly screwing the change system to ISO 9409-1-50 or 40 robot flanges. These features enable a design that is not only robust, but also flat with minimal interfering contours.
Another new product in this load range is the availability of three mounting surfaces to which a variety of different optional modules from the SCHUNK SWO portfolio can be attached. This allows signals, power, servo control, bus systems, fluids and other media to be performed in a wide variety of combinations and made available to the tools. This makes the SWS-029 particularly suitable for applications in which either different tools must be supplied with different media or where very complex tools are used.
