Dutch high-tech network hosted by SCHUNK

“Expanding high-tech expertise and strengthening supply chains“ – A delegation of Dutch high-tech suppliers travelled through Baden-Württemberg from June 10 to 14, 2024 with clearly defined goals, and also stopped by SCHUNK. The trip focused on cross-industry exchange and intensifying cooperation between the Dutch and German manufacturing industries to overcome global challenges together and to ensure competitiveness.
SCHUNK – Brainport Industries On June 11, 2024, a Dutch business delegation visited SCHUNK in their plants in Lauffen and Brackenheim-Hausen. The focus was on exchange and cooperation in the future-oriented industries of electronics and Life Science.

Germany is known for its engineering skills and innovative strength, particularly in the automotive and mechanical engineering sectors. In the Netherlands renowned technology pioneers are also shaping progress in growth sectors such as the electronics and semiconductor industries or medical technology. To further expand the cooperation between German and Dutch high-tech companies, a Dutch business delegation visited selected mechanical engineering companies in Baden-Württemberg, including SCHUNK, as an important automation partner in these key industries. The trip was organized by the Brabant regional development agency BOM, the Brainport Industries Network Organization and the VDMA. The participants are suppliers to global OEMs and members of the Dutch high-tech network ”Brainport Industries,“ which aims to sustainably strengthen value chains through cooperation.

Focus on cooperation

On the second day of their innovation trip, the delegation visited the SCHUNK headquarters in Lauffen and the neighboring automation plant in Brackenheim-Hausen. There, they were given an exclusive insight into the automation and production processes at SCHUNK. At the CoLab Robot Application Center, there was an open, lively exchange about current trends and automation solutions in dynamic industries such as E-Mobility and Life Science. In addition to networking, the focus was primarily on collaboration opportunities: The aim is to strengthen the complex supply chains of the high-tech sector and to promote growth and competitiveness in the long term. SCHUNK CTO Timo Gessmann summed up the core idea: “By joining forces and maintaining an open technological dialog, we combine our strengths and overcome challenges together. This synergy enables us to achieve sustainable international success in key industries such as electronics and Life Science.
