576 young professionals under the age of 25 from 32 nations competed at EuroSkills 2023 in Gdansk from September 5 – 9. During the competition, talented individuals from various countries compare their professional skills in 43 different disciplines of industry, crafts and various service sectors. Among the 30 participants of Team Germany were also Lukas Röser and Tim Vogel. Both are mechatronics engineers at SCHUNK's Lauffen site, and won the German championships in the "Robot Systems Integration" discipline last year. Therefore they are qualified for the European Championship, which is now being held.

Training, discipline and good education

Under the eyes of about 10,000 visitors, Germany's two best robot programmers had to reproduce real industrial robot applications in small form within a short time. Röser from Bönnigheim and Vogel from Nordheim did the job so well that they ended up in third place.

"A title like that looks pretty good on your resume," says Tim Vogel with a grin. The successful performance is the result of many hours of work, intensive training and extraordinary discipline. SCHUNK is delighted with its two mechatronics engineers, and also sees the success as confirmation of the quality of the training and encouragement of junior staff in the company. This is also confirmed by mechatronics instructor Hans Krauss: "Our talented youngsters regularly celebrate successes at such competitions. This spurs them on and specifically promotes their skills."

Great success of Team Germany
