Use of the DDF-I in PROFIBUS installations
Depending on the design, this may not completely meet the usual standards for signal cables for BUS installations. Also, neither the signal propagation time nor the damping of the signal can be defined exactly (see the Operating Manual for details).
The following measures are recommended for optimum transmission of PROFIBUS signals:
  • The number of participants downstream of the slip ring should be limited and the cable length kept to a minimum from as early as the system design stage.
  • If heavy reflections still occur, the transmission rate should be reduced or special devices installed to prepare the communication signals for transmission using sliding contacts (power rail boosters).
  • General notes about the series

    Harsh environmental conditions
Please note that use under harsh environmental conditions (e.g. in the coolant area, cast and grinding dust) can considerably reduce the service life of the units, and we will not take over any warranty. However, in many cases we can find a solution. Please contact us for assistance.

    Handling weight
is the weight of the total load attached to the flange. When designing, the permissible forces and moments have to be paid attention to. Please note that exceeding the recommended handling weight will shorten the lifespan.
