Mechatronic grippers are suitable for both mass production and batch production. Grippers with a short stroke are ideal for efficient mass production, while flexible gripper systems can be dynamically adapted to the varying requirements of batch production. This certainly does not rule out the use of flexible grippers in mass production. Rather, their adaptability can be used to further optimize the manufacturing process.

Our range of mechatronic grippers currently comprises four product series that are optimally adapted for use in various application areas in terms of gripping force and stroke. ​

They are used in a wide range of automated production processes, from machine loading and assembly to precision handling of a wide variety of workpieces.

For easy integration, the two new mechatronic grippers EGU and EGK are equipped with a variety of communication interfaces. This allows them to connect quickly and easily with all relevant robot and controller manufacturers.

Robot integration via plugins​

To integrate grippers in the robot systems, we make special software modules available for the control systems of leading robot manufacturers. These enable the full range of functions of our grippers without any additional programming necessary, meaning that application programming can begin immediately.

PLC integration via function blocks​

To simplify the integration of our grippers into PLC-controlled automation systems, we offer function blocks for the programming interfaces of leading PLC manufacturers. These modules enable direct use of all gripper functions without the need for additional programming. You can start programming applications immediately.

Commissioning app in the SCHUNK control center

The mechatronic grippers app simplifies commissioning, operation, diagnostics and service due to its extensive catalog of functions. Users can control the gripper directly and perform application validation without the need for a PLC. The functions include network configuration, firmware updates, parameter adjustments and backups as well as comprehensive diagnostic options.
