Om schade aan gereedschappen en werkstukken te voorkomen, bieden compensatie-eenheden met rotatie- en hoekcompensatie van SCHUNK de vereiste flexibiliteit tussen bijvoorbeeld de robot en het gereedschap. Dit voorkomt systeemstoringen als gevolg van onnauwkeurige toleranties en vergroot de procesbetrouwbaarheid.
Veel Robot PLUS-producten zijn standaard zo ontworpen dat ze rechtstreeks op de ISO 9409-1-flens van een robot kunnen worden vastgeschroefd.

Deze waarde geeft de kracht aan waarmee de verwisselbare kop de verwisselbare adapter naar zich toe trekt. Afhankelijk van het systeem geldt deze waarde voor verschillende afstanden tussen de verwisselbare kop en de verwisselbare adapter; zie hieronder:
