Leading experts from all over the world met at AI House Davos, on the fringes of the World Economic Forum, to share their knowledge on AI, ramp up cooperation and responsibly advance the further development of this key technology. SCHUNK also took part for the second time and shared its experiences regarding the successful deployment of AI in the company. The motto for this iteration was "After the Hype". Timo Gessmann, CTO of SCHUNK, says: "That is aptly put. We in the industry have now moved beyond mere curious expectation when it comes to AI. SCHUNK, for example, has already firmly integrated AI into its processes, products and services. This means we can now exchange ideas with a tangible wealth of experience behind us." In the panel discussion entitled, "The AI Journey: Empowering SMEs to the Digital Age" on January 23, together with other experts from industry and science he discussed the question of how AI-related barriers can be removed and how the introduction of AI to increase productivity can be facilitated, especially for small and medium-sized companies.
Other participants included:
Dr. Gunther Wobser (Managing Partner, LAUDA), Prof. James A. Landay (Professor of Computer Science, Stanford University), Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Helmut Krcmar (Representative of the TUM Campus Heilbronn), Dr. Rüdiger Eichin (VP SAP 'Labs Munich' SE & Director Steinbeis i2e)
SCHUNK is actively involved in AI ecosystems, with a view to promoting dialog and jointly determining the right course. The company is working on the design with partners worldwide and across various industries, such as the IPAI, the future European center for applied AI technology in Heilbronn. The aim is to put the technology to quicker use in practical solutions and to mutually benefit from new knowledge. "We have learned that you can make faster progress together with others - this is especially true for AI," says Gessmann, "which is why we are also involved here in the AI House. We are ready for an open exchange. And we are expanding our network. Together, we are developing needs-based AI solutions that strengthen our customers and ensure their sustainable success."
