Competence diversity at SCHUNK: Expertise for your application

Regardless of whether it concerns the specific setting of the hairpins, the handling of the sheet packages or the assembly of the components to the finished e-axis: SCHUNK supports you. Read all about specific hairpin setting in our whitepaper.

The entire range of automation is used to manufacture the battery systems. This applies to the high-speed handling of individual cells to handling heavy battery modules and packs over one ton. SCHUNK offers a comprehensive product portfolio for this purpose.

Linear handling for battery cells

With the aid of the axis gantry, several prismatic cells can be assembled to form battery modules. The linear direct drives used enable short cycle times and precise positioning of the cells relative to each other.

The video shows various production steps from the individual battery cell to the finished battery pack. Handling is performed by the RCG magnetic gripper. It features minimal interference contours and, depending on the application, is scalable and available in various designs. In combination with cell spacing units with Z compensation, the cells can be picked up in a defined manner and set down again with newly defined cell spacing.

Due to positive characteristics such as high energy density and short refueling times, fuel cells are increasingly being used in mobile as well as stationary applications. SCHUNK offers extensive solutions for handling fuel cells and their components.
