The "SCHUNK Expert Days on Robotic Material Removal" is an international platform event for robot-supported automation solutions for machining processes such as deburring, grinding or polishing. Over two intensive days, experts and stakeholders will exchange cross-industry information on the potential for development, the best practice solutions, and the future trends in all process stages of robot-based workpiece machining. Lectures by renowned speakers bring up new ideas, describe the latest findings from recent research and create the foundation for lively discussions. Robotic material removal is becoming one of the most important trending topics in the automation industry impacting the next several years. There is still a lot of untapped potential in robot-based machining, especially when it comes to automated loading and unloading of machine tools.

Glen A. "Fritz" Carlson III is President & CEO of Acme Manufacturing, a global leading machine tool builder and robotic system integrator for material removal with over 39 years of industry experience. In 2016, he became the sole fourth-generation owner to lead the 113-year-old company .
Mr. Carlson is an active member in the Association of Manufacturing Technology (AMT), Association for Advancing Automation (A3), Young Presidents' Organization (Gold) (YPO) and a strategic integrator partner with FANUC America Corporation. He has been a distinguished speaker at numerous Machine Tool and Automation Conferences on Acme's success in exporting capital equipment.

Julien Pierre joined AV&R in 2018 as the Strategic Accounts Manager for the European region. He gained vast knowledge of aeronautics thanks to his work for Airbus, Safran or Spirit Aerosystems. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Hermann studied robotics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and since then is focusing on sensor-based 3D real-time navigation and motion planning. In numerous nationally and internationally funded projects, he transferred the latest robotics research into practical applications over the last 11 years.
Since 2017, he has been Senior Team Leader Advanced Robotics at ArtiMinds, designing new features of the Robot Programming Suite (RPS). In addition, he manages a range of customer projects, including sensor-based material removal.
In 2020, during the pandemic, Karl Ericsson set out on a path to help Swedish industry automate the dull, dirty, and dangerous tasks. With the company Svenska Elektrods history in welding since 1981, this was the process they started with. Soon thereafter they started grinding with cobots.

Mathias Mayer is a specialist in the ProductionLab at AUDI AG. The trained electrical engineer and expert in the field of automation technology has been working at Audi at the Neckarsulm site since 2012.
Among other things, he deals with the standardization of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), 5G and the car body store of the future.
