Variety for robot applications

SCHUNK is continuously developing its own range of robot components, with one eye on the future. With perfectly coordinated products, the company addresses the key challenges of automation and enables more efficient, flexible and productive processes. A suitable example of this is the modular AGM compensation unit - one of the versatile solutions for optimizing process reliability and protecting robots and workpieces against wear. It compensates for inaccuracies in all directions, ranging from a few grams to 400 kilograms.

Three steps to increased productivity

Regardless of whether companies are just starting out with automation or are already looking for customized solutions - SCHUNK offers the right support for every requirement. With a three-stage approach, the automation expert supports its customers throughout the entire process: from requirements analysis and validation - including in its own SCHUNK CoLabs - through to installation and commissioning. The aim is to sustainably increase productivity and make automation easily accessible.

Optimized engineering across all sectors

For more complex requirements, SCHUNK applies its proven engineering expertise to develop customized component solutions for various industries in close cooperation with customers, which extend beyond the standard portfolio. One example of this is the aseptic changer, developed for applications in the pharmaceutical and food industries. It offers pneumatic, electrical and mechanical feed-throughs, is characterized by its hygienic design and resistant surfaces and meets GMP class A requirements. It is also equipped with integrated sensors and requires no additional energy for locking.

In the field of e-mobility, SCHUNK develops customized automation solutions for battery cell handling - from handling the cells when assembling the battery packs to final mounting in the vehicle. The RCG round cell gripper, for example, is specially designed for handling 46 mm round cells - both for individual battery cells and for the precise assembly of complete cell clusters.

The SCHUNK engineering range is supplemented by digital tools such as the digital twin for planning and simulation. This allows customers to plan, simulate and optimize their automation tasks virtually. Partnerships with technology companies such as NVIDIA support the simulation and project planning for complex automation projects.

Strong partners in the field of humanoid robotics

In particular, industrial robots and cobots are essential for the future-proof automation of production processes. SCHUNK offers suitable end-of-arm components with open digital modules for these and also for the next generation of robotic systems, humanoid robots. The anthropomorphic SVH 5-finger gripping hand, for example, is available with open source software and as a digital twin. Thanks to decades of expertise in flexible gripping technology and strong partnerships with industrial companies, start-ups and research institutions, we are using the gripping hand to open up new fields of application that extend beyond the scientific environment. An impressive live demonstration at the SCHUNK stand in cooperation with NEURA Robotics will demonstrate what this could look like in practice.
